Oppo F21 Pro ColorOS 12 Update starts rolling out based on Android 12 with great improvements

Earlier this month, Oppo revealed the list of devices that will get the Android 12 update with the stable ColorOS 12 interface in July, and already on schedule the brand released the stable update for its feature phone that got very important upgrades and improvements.

To receive the update, your Oppo F21 Pro 5G must be at least on firmware version A.13 / A.14, while Reno7 Z 5G must be on firmware version A.15.

As usual, the update will come in badges via the OTA method, if you haven’t received an OTA update notification yet, you can check it manually by going to [Settings] – [Software Updates] and tap Detect ColorOS 12 version and update.

Things to consider before updating Android 12

Oppo also indicated a few things to consider before updating Android 12 devices:

1. It is best to back up important data on the phone before updating to avoid data loss caused by incompatibility or other unexpected circumstances.

2. After updating to the latest version, the operating system will perform several actions to optimize your device automatically. This can cause your device to overheat, lag, and drain the battery quickly. We recommend that you turn off the screen and charge your device for an entire night after a successful update. Or keep using the device and it will be normal in a few days.
3. Some third party apps are not compatible with Android 12. So these apps may not be available to update or you may experience technical issues including lag and crashes on your device.

Android 12 update improvements

Users should be looking for a lot of new improvements and changes after installing the ColorOS 12 upgrade, new wallpaper-based theme system, screen translation, Canvas AOD, privacy dashboard for Android 12 and privacy indicators are just a few of the innovations included in upgrade.
