Huawei officially unveiled its latest series of flagship phones, “Huawei Mate 50” almost two years later, as the “Huawei Mate 40” series was announced in November 2020, and now the company has finally launched the next generation series of Huawei Mate 50, Let’s take a look at the design, price and specifications of the phone with Huawei Mate 50 Wallpaper.
Huawei Mate 50 Details
Looking at the latest flagship phone, the Huawei Mate 50 has a design quite similar to the base or regular Huawei Mate 40. It also features a back face and curved edges. The back also has a large circular camera module like that of the Huawei Mate 40.
Albeit there have been changes in its design with the circular unit being a large single camera unit this time over the previous design.
On the front, the Huawei Mate 50 from the Chinese tech giant features a 6.7-inch OLED display that comes with a resolution (2700 x 1224 pixels) and FHD + display quality, with a center-aligned hole punch, and offers a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 300 Hz. This screen also supports HDR and P3 color gamut and can output 1.07 billion colors. There is a fingerprint sensor in the screen.
The new Huawei Mate 50 is equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor paired with at least 8GB of RAM. It was initially thought to have the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, but this was a welcome surprise. However, This processor supports 4G networks only.
This is primarily due to the sanctions it is facing from the US. Moreover, the phone will be powered by a 4,460mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging and 50W fast wireless charging as well.
Notably, the company also bragged about battery life, with users even having the option to make calls when the battery is empty thanks to the battery emergency mode. Apart from this, the brand also offers satellite communication technology that allows cellular calls and messaging in very remote areas where there is no 3G, 4G or 5G cellular coverage.
The Huawei Mate 50 base phone model is equipped with a triple camera on the back that includes its primary image sensor being the flagship 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor, paired with a 13MP Sony IMX688 ultra-wide angle lens. The latter camera is a 12MP telephoto zoom lens that provides Up to 5x optical zoom capabilities and OIS support.
The device also supports the first-ever XMAGE imaging technology that will help improve the imaging experience. Meanwhile, the front end houses a 13-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
The Huawei Mate 50 is available in multiple color options as well as three different storage configurations. It is offered in five color options, while storage options include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The model costs 128GB ($720), while the price is a variable. 256GB ($791) and the 512 model ($935).
